Port Wine

An intense violet-ruby, this has an attractive, perfumed nose, cassis and blackberry and spice, lifted by floral notes. The palate, equally aromatic, is supported by soft tannins. Good with food whether Summer barbecues or Sunday roasts

Warre's Otima is a classic, well-balanced 10 year-old Tawny Port

Dark and red berries, with violets and powdered cocoa on the nose. Ripe raspberry fruit and a more savoury rhubarb note on the palate, with good purity and shapely tannins.

Our sumptuous Ruby Port is skillfully blended by Wine & Soul, based in the Douro's beautiful Pinhao valley. Moreish blackcurrants laced with peppery spice.

Rich, jet-ruby, with violet lights, this has an intense, concentrated nose, rich in black fruit complemented by floral notes. The palate echoes the aromatics on the nose, set within a rather classically-structured frame, opulent fruit reined in by ripe, rounded tannins. This hits the ground running, great with food and promises more, with some bottle age. The key is in the pronounced, poised, elegant and protracted finish.

This douro is pepper spiced and rich in intense plum and fresh red fruit with notes of warm pains aux raisin and bakewell tarts. It has real character, silken whilst retaining tannic form and edge – fabulous wine with grilled and roasted meats and chargrilled vegetables.

Notes of orange rind, almonds and nutmeg lead to a warming finish. Hard to resist!

Offley Boa Vista Vintage Port 1982

Intensely coloured, this offers a really appealing, floral and abundantly fruited nose, lightly smoky, white pepper spiced. Ripe and aromatic on the palate, the tannins are certainly present but beautifully coated in red and black cherry fruit. The finish is protracted, upbeat and fresh, very elegant pretty fruit with schist minerals underpinning a poised, long, balanced finish.

Jet-ruby in colour, intense and brilliant, this is rather lovely and certainly a fine ambassador for this vineyard. A flourish of fruit, flowers and herbs on the nose, is complemented by a dusting of pepper and some background smoky, savoury appeal. The palate is similarly aromatic, underpinned by minerals and cocoa tannins. Combining a sense of nobility with such fragranced appeal is rather special – refined through to a long, layered, harmonious finish.
