Soraie is an innovative project, aiming to put a new spin on the traditional winemaking technique called 'appassimento', which is used to make the famous Amarone wines of the Veneto region. Rich, velvety and round on the palate, with flavours of black plums, black cherry, vanilla and a moreish chocolatey finish, it's a great accompaniment to roasted red meats and ragus.

“A huge hit at our recent Glasgow Italian tasting. This rich raisiny spicy cherry-fruited innovative red scored very high marks with our tasters, who thought it was brilliant value & an ideal match with Easter lamb. Soraie is made from partially dried grapes (for a few weeks, rather than months) prior to fermentation - the same 'appassimento' method as used in Amarone. It is a blend of local and international grapes grown on the very top of the hills (hence the name Soraie), where the sun and cool breeze ripen the best grapes.”
