The Morey family dates back to at least the sixteenth century in Burgundy and has been present in Meursault since 1793.We have worked with Pierre Morey since his 20 year tenure as Régisseur of Domaine Leflaive, from 1988 to 2008 during which Pierre combined his high profile position at Domaine Leflaive with running the family domaine. It is no coincidence that certain milestones at Domaine Leflaive, such as turning biodynamic in 1997, were echoed at Domaine Pierre Morey. Pierre and his daughter Anne Morey now co-manage the domaine. Although Pierre remains a constant presence, the future of the domaine lies in the safe hands of Anne. Pierre Morey says, “2018 was, in many ways, similar to 1979! High quality, high volume years...” Pierre Morey, November 2019
"This was made for the first time in 2018. Pitures borders Pommard to the north east and Marquis d’Angerville’s Clos des Ducs to the south west. We know (and love) this vineyard from Domaine Lafarge, who also has a holding here. The forceful, almost tarry character is explained by its proximity to Pommard. Impressively taut, crunchy, pure red berry fruit, with a ferrous bite and fine grippy tannins. "
