Goldkapsel, referring to the gold capsule around the neck of these bottles, is an unregulated term in Germany, but has become widely used in the Mosel to distinguish the highest quality wines within their class. It is most often used in the Auslese category and has to be clearly deserved.
"This is sublime, perfumed, with hints of yellow flowers and honey complementing supremely ripe, intense stone fruit character – innately seductive. The palate then presents more of a filigree delicacy, richness offset by fresh citrus and floral notes. Embryonic, this nonetheless gives real pleasure even now whilst having extraordinary potential. The finish is extraordinarily sarisfying and extremely protracted"

Germany produces some of the world’s very finest white wines, presenting natural, grapey richness complemented by racy acidity. A really fine example sets off a roller coaster of emotion akin to a skilfully played piece of music.Â
