The Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard is fabulously sited, the jewel in the Prüm holdings and one of the finest sites of the Mosel. The wines are renowned for their warmth and impressive age-worthiness. This 2017 is brightly fruited and vivacious with ripe, caramelised, pithy stone-fruit, refreshed by floral notes. The palate is rather tantalising, inviting and rounded, with zippy acidity. The reputation may be for longevity but much self-control will have to be exercised as it is delectable even now
