Tavel Vieilles Vignes Tardieu-Laurent 2016

This comes from the large rounded pebbles and sandy soils of Vallongue, between Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. 60% Grenache, 30% Cinsault and 10% Syrah, all of which are 40 to 50 years old. This is a saignée rosé, meaning free-run juice is ‘bled’ off from the red grapes in order to keep it as delicate as possible. It is matured for six months in concrete tanks, following which it is given  a very light filtration before bottling to ensure it is crystal clear. Bright strawberries, playful and with a light creamy texture. A rosé for food pairing – particularly good with Asian spiced dishes.
