We love this wine. The terroir in St Sulpice de Faleyrens is not the finest (although one of its neighbouring plots is used in the famous garage wine Chateau Valandraud) but this tiny estate always produces tender, 'heart on sleeve' wines; but with grip and the ability to drink young and age well. What we all want, really. In 2009, it is delectable. Deepest ruby in colour, the nose is still a little muted with clenched red fruit, dark and earthy. The palate by contrast is silky on entry, with generous, sweet flavours, a succulent, medium-weight concentration and nice, fresh length.
