Rather pale in colour, it perhaps suggests an ethereal wine. In fact the nose is almost rumbustious, packed with golden, ripe fruit, complemented by freshly cut herbs, white flowers and lemon zest. Complex, there are also hints of fresh rhubarb, caramelised oats, cream and barley sugar. With such a plethora of ingredients, this warrants time to settle but the balance is already stunning, languid opulence refreshed by bright acidity and crushed slate minerals.

What a wonderful rarity, this tugs at the heartstrings – so pure, ripe, dramatic and enchanting. The nose is superbly complex, honeyed exotic fruit and almonds, hints of tea, stony, briny minerals and very pretty floral aromatics all playing a role. This is a wonderful wine with layered richness and delicacy – all to play for - very fine

This has a spicy, stony-mineral nose, opening onto a similarly chiselled palate, which slowly reveals quince, tea-leaf spice and yellow flowers. The back-palate is very delicate, with an impressive weight of fruit and extract behind. Hedonists might prefer the straightforward Kabinett, those who appreciate fine bone structure should go for this. It really is a matter of taste. Both are good food wines

2015 was pretty much a dream vintage in the Southern Rhône. This is mostly Grenache Blanc, with supporting roles for Grenache Gris, Clairette, Picardin, Bourboulenc, Picpoul Gris and Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier, all interplanted. Gentle pastry on the nose, leading into a palate of zinging, ripe white peach and pithy apricot. Beautifully pure and resonant, with red appley texture on the finish. Jêrome loves the complexity afforded by allowing so many varietals a role and finds the Rasteau appellaton rules overly restrictive. Thus he has courageously forged his own path

This is sublime, perfumed, with hints of yellow flowers and honey complementing supremely ripe, intense stone fruit character – innately seductive. The palate then presents more of a filigree delicacy, richness offset by fresh citrus and floral notes. Embryonic, this nonetheless gives real pleasure even now whilst having extraordinary potential. The finish is extraordinarily sarisfying and extremely protracted
