SENIOR FINE WINE SALES EXECUTIVE
OFFICE BASED ROLE AT THOMAS MORE STREET, LONDON E1W 5 DAYS PER WEEK
The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Maximise turnover and profit by hitting agreed KPIs including targets or sales, new business, offers campaigns and stock reduction
- Generate new business leads from own resources and initiatives, referral and networking
- Convert incoming leads into new business
- Promote the company’s fine wine services including Broking, Storage, Monopole and Events
- Promote the company’s other wine services including wines for immediate drinking, gifting, Cellar Club membership and Wine Odyssey subscription membership

Additional Responsibilities

SHOP SALES ASSISTANCE & APPRENTICE SALES, BASED AT NEWMARKET
Main purpose:
Supporting the Newmarket and East Anglian team as required. To start with there will be focus on Newmarket shop operations and a requirement to be hands on with stock management, deliveries both in and outbound, working with shops customers,
supporting the Tattersalls operation.
To work with the wider Newmarket team to deliver a 5 year growth strategy across all facets from the business, from retail to an increased sales presence across East Anglia. Therefore, there is scope for the right candidate to embark on
longer term career progression. The role will require assisting in our Newmarket shop to understand the fundamentals of the business. This will be a hands-on role assisting the team as required. A “can do” attitude is essential as are relationship skills which are core to our
ethos as a business. To be adaptable and flexible to help support the day to day needs of the Newmarket Shop and wider business as required. This could include serving customers or deliveries in the van. This will require excellent presentation and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative support such as processing orders, stocktaking & producing draft wine lists.
- Event organisation & relevant marketing support.
- Assisting with and attending customer tasting and training sessions, presentations and special producer events, both at the Newmarket site and externally.

REGIONAL ON TRADE SALES EXECUTIVE, SOUTH-WEST ENGLAND
Reporting to: Head of Merchant Sales
In an exciting new development, we are looking to expand the regional sales team into Devon and Cornwall. We have good regional sales coverage across Southern England, but currently have no-one specifically responsible for the South-West. This is an ideal opportunity for the right candidate to use their experience and existing network to take ownership of and develop these areas for Corney & Barrow.
Main responsibilities:
To deliver on-trade focussed sales for Corney & Barrow in food-led pubs, restaurants, hotels, catering companies, golf clubs etc. with a geographical focus in Devon and Cornwall. This is a relatively new region for us so there is an emphasis on new business acquisition. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate outstanding customer service and relationship skills.
Specific responsibilities:
To work as part of the merchant sales team to develop new opportunities with a focus on developing new long-term sustainable business. The role will require an ability to identify new business opportunities, develop these into live prospects and ultimately into new accounts and profitable customers.
Whilst the role will be on trade focussed, there is significant scope for different types of customers as part of a healthy sales mix. Examples may include private and corporate customers.
The role will be home based, whilst maintaining a continuing relationship with Head Office (London) as required,

The successful candidate is likely to have a solid 3+ years’ track record of wine buying, ideally with Supply Chain experience, with direct exposure to suppliers, price negotiations, product development, quality control issues and brand management.
The candidate will probably be qualified to WSET Diploma standard (or equivalent).
They MUST speak and write fluent English and French. Spanish or Italian language skills would be an added advantage.

Technically not a new head count as some of you may remember we had Valentina in the role and when she had to leave around the beginning of the pandemic lockdown for personal reasons we did not replace her. Main Responsibilities
Supporting FW team with day to day admin and requirements of customers. Maintaining regular communication with customers helping to build strong relationships between customers and the FW team. To support the growth of our business, we are looking for an additional Buying Support Coordinator to join our close, hardworking and mutually supportive team. This is a demanding and diverse role, with significant responsibilities, requiring strong administrative skills and attention to detail under pressure.
The successful candidate will be supporting the team in delivering a number of key objectives.
Super-organised, energetic, with a ‘can-do’ attitude and maniacal attention to detail, you love organising others, multi-tasking and GETTING STUFF DONE. You will have an interest in wine and maybe have some wine education but this is not a pre-requisite. You speak and write fluent English, though European languages particularly French would be a great bonus. Appreciation of quirk and off-beat sense of humour very important.
Responsibilities will include:
Coordination of private label wines
Liaising with colleagues in the Buying team, Sales team, Supply Chain and designers/printers; reviewing sales and aiding in the demand planning process. Negotiating design and print costs.
Coordination of producer and customer itineraries
Organising producer visits (field trips) in the UK, based on a clear brief, liaising with Buying, Sales and Marketing colleagues, and with the producer. Organising customer visits to see suppliers, as briefed.
Compliance & product management
Joint responsibility for administrating key compliance areas and maintaining records: Quality Control, Allergens, Organics, Deposit Return Scheme barcodes
Sustainability projects
Helping administrate our initiatives with suppliers in this key developmental area.
Junior buying responsibilities

Good numeracy & IT skills, along with exemplary organisational skills
Qualified to at least WSET level 3
Previous on-trade sales experience essential, ideally with a good working knowledge of this region.
Knowledge of other languages advantageous
