The quality of our communications – both their content and tone – is critical to shaping C&B’s image and delivering its objectives in a highly competitive market. Sitting in the Marketing team but liaising directly with the Buying and Sales teams, the role will span overall C&B brand and producer-led projects.

 

The successful candidate will:

Interpret copywriting briefs to deliver key messages through engaging and channel-specific copy, using C&B’s tone of voice and authority, coherently and confidently.
Create copy that inspires, educates, promotes and sells
Project the image of C&B as the ultimate authority on all things wine, the trusted voice at all levels and at all points in the supply and value chains, in terms of wine, wine production and contemporary issues pertaining to the wine industry. 
 

Core Responsibilities: 

 

Outbound emails: Write copy for weekly short emails – sales or news-style bulletins, as well as monthly ‘long-reads’ (tbc) with an educational angle. 
Social Media: Extract the essence of a campaign or message and deliver it in the ‘right’ language - ie that will resonate with our social media audiences – (typically shorter, snappier but still consistent with C&B tone of voice and appropriate to the level of producer/topic).
Website: Provide text for banners, category and content pages and write copy following SEO principles, to include 
Producer-specific copy 
Copy about specific wines, grapes, regions (typically requires wine expertise).
Occasion-led pieces.
Blog: Lead the ‘blog agenda’, research, plan and write on specific themes. Coordinate with other contributors (internal or external) to keep our readership engaged and add depth, breadth and credibility to our blog.
Advertising: Write clear and concise copy for ads when needed.
Odyssey/other outbound services:
Write compelling copy as required.

Product-specific copy and other sales collateral
Marketing collateral eg trade/press tastings - write/adapt appropriate producer/product-specific copy.
 

Essential Qualities/Requirements of Candidate:

Proven experience as a senior copywriter or related role
Excellent research, writing, editing and proofreading skills. (nb: probably degree-educated)
A passion for wine and for the stories that make wine so compelling.
Experience in the Wine & Spirits industry/WSET Diploma level qualification or equivalent level.

We are looking for a wine enthusiast who would relish joining our Fine Wine Sales Team in a support role.

 

Main Responsibilities : Supporting the Fine Wine Team with the day to day admin and requirements of customers. Maintaining regular communication with customers helping to build strong relationships between customers and the Fine Wine Team. The successful candidate is likely to have a solid 3+ years’ track record of wine buying, ideally with Supply Chain experience, with direct exposure to suppliers, price negotiations, product development, quality control issues and brand management.

The candidate will probably be qualified to WSET Diploma standard (or equivalent).

They MUST speak and write fluent English and French. Spanish or Italian language skills would be an added advantage.
