Chateau Gazin 2013

The property of Château Gazin is built on what had been a hamlet in the 18th Century and a hospital assumed to have been built by the Knights of Saint Jean, Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta to receive pilgrims on the road to Santiago de Compostela. The de Baillencourt family, currently at the helm represent the fifth generation. Its proximity to Pétrus geographically and in terms of terroir is such that some of the land was sold to Pétrus some time ago – giving an indication of the potential of Gazin, which is realised year on year

"Opaque ruby colour. The nose is darkly perfumed, pointed, spicy, with an almost Egyptian scent. The palate is dense, full, concentrated but with the fruit, like the cavalry in support, covers the structure well with fresh, pure bright flavours and super length. À la limite but gets away with it – stylish, elegant and opulent "
