91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% Merlot, 0.5% Petit Verdot. Graphite, pencil shavings and cool, poised blackcurrant, very classical, with a sweetly dark-fruited, gently insistent ripeness which supports the tannins beautifully. The tannins themselves are wonderfully fine, the finest I have seen this vintage. Extremely polished, but without detracting from its elegant, cassis-driven character. Effortless. The yield was 40hl/ha – around 10% lower yield than a normal vintage. 13.3% abv.

"96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot. Sweet blackcurrant and liquorice aromas, with a creamy edge. The palate’s graphite and cassis are super-classical, blackberry fruit peppered with those fabulous Lafite pencil shavings, framed by fine, clipped tannins.
