Chiaretto di Bardolino Cantina Menegotti 2022

Chiaretto di Bardolino Cantina Menegotti 2022

‘Chiaretto’ comes from the Italian term ‘chiaro’, meaning light, pale, and it denotes a pale rose’ style, a bit of a Provence from Italy! This is a really good example of the appellation, refreshing and refined, with flavours of summer berries and a delicate creamy texture. Like Bardolino, this wine is a blend of the classic grapes of the region: Corvina and Rondinella, with a bit of Sangiovese too, each adding structure, freshness and sour cherry flavours and blending harmoniously.

"A fruity and delicate rose made from the classic grapes of the region: Corvina and Rondinella, with a splash of Sangiovese. Red berries and wild strawberries on the palate bond over a smooth, creamy texture."

Region

Venetian Wine

Italy’s Veneto wine region has played a pivotal part in Italy’s wine culture since Roman times, boosted by its strategic location close to Venice and the Adriatic. Today the Veneto is a thriving wine region, responsible for almost a sixth of Italy’s wine production and the source of Italy’s most successful contemporary wine ‘brand’ Pinot Grigio, a light-bodied dry white wine made from vineyards on the plains. Behind Venice, the Conegliano hills are home to Prosecco, the white grape and sparkling white wine style now taking the world by storm.
