Corney & Barrow Company Reserve Claret Maison Sichel 2016

The C&B buying team blend this wine with the help of Maison Sichel, a highly-acclaimed family company – Château owner, producer and négociant house, since its establishment in 1883. The blending is treated very seriously, the aim being to produce a smooth, accessible, early drinking claret which has underlying depth and a characterful edge.

"This wine is a blend of selected cuvées of grapes produced by Sichel’s long-term growers, based on the Right Bank of the Garonne River and from Boulbène, in the Entre-Deux-Mers. Rich in colour, this has an appetising nose, red and black fruit to the fore, complemented by toasted notes and traces of vanilla cream. The balance on the palate offers charm and substance, supported by rather refined tannins. A perfect accompaniment to traditional roasted meats, grilled vegetables and customary barbecue favourites "
