Garsington Opera

About

Garsington Opera is known for its performances of great artistic quality in a setting of extraordinary natural beauty. Performances take place in the spectacular Opera Pavilion, which sits within the rolling landscape of the Chiltern Hills, less than an hour from London on the Wormsley Estate, home of the Getty family.

The festival presents a programme of four operas each year during a seven-week summer period alongside a year-round Learning and Participation programme that engages with the diverse local community helping to demystify the wonderful and varied genre of opera for those who would not normally have access to it.

What's On

The five works in Garsington Opera’s 2022 Season contain some of the greatest music ever written for the stage. From the beginnings of the art form (Orfeo) to a world premiere (Dalia), the 2022 Season celebrates four hundred years of opera and the power of music to unite us all through the shared experience of live performance.

Garsingon Opera continue their partnerships with The English Concert for Monteverdi’s Orfeo and Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and The Philharmonia Orchestra for Dvořák’s Rusalka and Britten’s The Turn of the Screw.
