This mixed case focuses on one of our favourite Bordeaux estates, L’Aurage, from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux. Merlot accounts for almost the entirety of their 19 hectares, with diminishing amounts of Cabernet Franc. The winemaker Louis ‘Loulou’ Mitjavile picks his grapes as late as possible during harvest to ensure maximum fruit expression in his wines. L’Aurage is typically a juicy, forthright and approachable red wine that hits the ground running. We’ve bundled together one bottle of their 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 to give you the perfect snapshot into how wines can vary depending on the vintage, despite keeping a consistency of style.
