This is the second of my favourite wines in 2012 and very, very nearly equal favourite. Of almost crystalline purity, the nose offers a haunting, mineral, slaty perfume and a palate that is liquorous, silkily weighted and fabulously intense. In perfect balance, the magic of this wine is in an almost surreal alliance of contradictory qualities - elegance, seductiveness, richness and freshness, depth and delicacy. Very, very, lovely.
