Pale yellow gold in colour, this is enticing from the outset. Rich, creamy stone fruit complements fresh orchard fruit, layered and richly textured, punctuated by minerals and hints of nuts. Old vines richness is evident throughout. Long and full, the finish is perfumed with sandalwood and shades of spice and wild herbs.

This shouts out modern Spain but also reminded me of some of the best things about a traditional glass of Manzanilla. Attractive pale yellow (slight burnished golden sheen) and aromatic on the nose. Some interesting resinous garrigue notes underpin apricot and salted almonds or maybe pine nuts. A wine of intensity and character best suited to a sunny day, salty snacks and green olives or maybe something more substantial like a plate of jamon to mediate the 14% alcohol.
