Located in western Loire Valley, near the Atlantic Ocean, the Muscadet appellation is covered by rolling hills nestled between the rivers ‘Sèvre’ and ‘Maine’. It produces characterful and mineral white wines made exclusively from Melon de Bourgogne varietal and aged on fine lees.
6th generation of vinegrower in the area, Julien Braud set up his own estate in the heart of Monnières in 2012. Since its inception, he had the vision to produce organic wines, paying tribute to the local grape variety and highlighting the region’s exceptional terroir.
Austere at first, the nose opens with ripe citrus, crushed shells and a distinctive wet stone character. Softly creamy, yet highly-mineral, the seamless structure of this wine reveals graceful notes of iodic plum and spicy quince. Racy and complex, with great length and ageing potential.
