Our mission with the Cellar Club is to make buying Fine Wine approachable and easy.
We will hand pick wines according to your preferences to ensure you have a varied cellar for many years of happy drinking.
We are fortunate to work with a range of producers from all four corners of the wine making world.
Our Heritage
In 1780, Edward Bland Corney opened his shop in London, offering a small selection of port, sherry, and Bordeaux. The business flourished, and in 1838, his son, Thomas introduced his cousin Robert Barrow to the trade. The Corney & Barrow name was born.
Today our offices have grown to the north of England, Scotland, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Still privately owned, 75% of our portfolio is exclusive to us meaning many of the wines you’ll receive in your subscription cases cannot be found elsewhere. Our range has grown to include examples of the highest quality from everyday drinking wines from across the globe to the heights of Petrus and Domaine de la Romanée-Conti and it’s the fruit of these long standing, special relationships that you’ll find in your cellar.
We insist on excellence in everything we do, just as Messrs Corney & Barrow would have done and that includes our Cellar Club.

Offering
Do I have to buy something every month?
No, you can save your funds for higher value cases if you wish. We recommend making a purchase at least once every three months to keep your cellar growing.
Can I purchase wines outside of the Club offerings?
Of course, we have hundreds of wines available and as you discover more of our producers we hope you will want to do this. Will & Ida will be there to help you choose these whenever you need.
What role does my C&B advisor play?
Your Corney & Barrow wines advisor will be your first point of contact with anything wine related. They’re here to help make sure your wine choices are tailored to you as well as educating you along the way.
Charges
Are there any other charges?
No, there are no hidden costs for the management of your cellar, however your wines stored in the UK are subject to an annual storage fee, details are HERE. Upon request we will deliver your wines to any mainland UK address free of charge however duty and VAT (calculated at purchase price) will be payable.
Payment
How much should I spent?
We recommend you spend a minimum of £250 a month. Some customers choose to pay an initial sum up front to get the ball rolling, then start a direct debit the following month.
Do I have to set up a direct debit?
Yes, paying by Direct Debit is the simplest and most stress free way to build funds for your cellar. You can set this up via our account form HERE.

Can I sell my wines through Corney & Barrow?
Yes, we have a broking team dedicated to this service. They will value the wines you would like to sell and then list on our website and Wine Searcher. This service is not applicable to all wines, please discuss this with Will and Ida.

If you are not happy with our service you are free to cancel at any moment.
General
Why start building a wine cellar?
You are buying into your future drinking and often at a much keener price. It is also an easy and accessible way to learn more about the world of fine wine. Over time you will be able to track the progress of your cellar and then have the satisfaction of opening and drinking your bottles.
What is discretionary buying?
We will select wine according to your specific criteria but your permission is NOT required before purchases are made. This is beneficial for you as we often have oversubscribed wines and discretionary buying will permit us to move the wine into your reserves before they sell out.
What is non-discretionary buying?
We will select wine according to your wishes but your permission MUST BE obtained before any purchases are made. You will have full control of your cellar however you may miss out on some of the rarer wines that are offered on a first come first served basis.
What is en-primeur?
En Primeur is buying wine before it has been bottled at the estate. The wines are purchased Under Bond, meaning they are exempt from duty & VAT (Sales Tax) charges. Traditionally associated with Bordeaux this has been adopted by most fine wine producing regions across the world and it is the best way of securing high-end in-demand wines.
What is bond/under bond?
Wines can be stored in bonded facilities where they are exempt of duty and VAT (Sales Tax) charges. This is common practise when purchasing Fine Wine, and obligatory when buying En Primeur.
