About Me
It was incredibly hard for me to get into the wine industry, in fact, Corney & Barrow turned me down three times before I persuaded them to take me on. Several decades later and I still feel honoured to be at the helm of a company which places relationships (with customers and Estates) at the heart of all we do. Such integrity has helped us survive the last 200 years and I expect those values will sustain us well into the future.
I get bored easily so I probably have far too many interests. In no particular order, family, reading, motorcycles, opera, ballet, cars… most of which are followed by wine!
Quote Me
“Everybody needs a house Claret” and it’s true. Even the super-rich are unlikely to share their Petrus’ and Montrachet’s with their teenage children on a regular basis, so we sell a lot of our own labels to customers who are sometimes a little defensive about their prized cellars. These are seriously good wines and great value too.
