Tell us a bit about you and your role at Corney & Barrow.

I’m lucky to lead a brilliant team of seven here at Corney & Barrow, where we shape and drive the marketing strategy to support our wider business goals. In short, I look after how we position our brand and communicate our messages — making sure we showcase our incredible wines and producers through the right channels. That includes everything from emails and social media to events, partnerships and our website.

What do you love most about your role and why?

The variety! No two days are ever the same, which keeps things exciting. I’m surrounded by a wonderfully creative team, and I love the constant stream of fresh ideas they bring. Plus, with so many beautiful stories from our producers, there’s always something inspiring to work with.

How did you end up working in wine and what attracted you in the first place?

My marketing journey began in Spain, working with well-known Champagne and spirits brands. Fast forward 20 years, and I’m still loving every moment. What drew me in — and keeps me here — is that wine isn’t just an industry, it’s a community. It feels more like a big family, full of passionate people who care deeply about what they create, sell and share. It’s more than a job — it’s a way of life, and that’s what makes it so special to me.

What has been your favourite wine experience so far and why?

There have been so many memorable moments, but one that stands out is a recent trip to Italy with Corney & Barrow. We visited Pasqua, one of our long-standing producers in the Veneto region. The company organised four separate trips so all staff could go — it was amazing! We explored the winery, learned about Pasqua’s story, and connected with colleagues from all corners of the business — from the North of Scotland to our fantastic drivers. It was a truly unforgettable experience.

What advice would you offer to someone looking to start a career in the wine industry?

Be curious and passionate — especially about people and storytelling. That’s a great place to start. I’m not a wine expert myself, but I’ve always had a genuine interest in learning about wine and the stories behind it. That curiosity has taken me far!

What might we find you doing when you’re not at work?

When I’m off the clock, I’m usually spending time with family and friends. You might catch me at the gym… but more likely at the pub or hosting at home with good food and wine. I just love enjoying life’s simple pleasures!
