Venetto, Italy

Vineyard

30 hectares

The history of the Menegotti family starts with the ‘Nonno’ (Grandfather), Antonio Menegotti, who started making wines in the 1950s. In the 1970s his sons Vittorino and Giorgio bought vineyards from Count Mendini, a local landowner whose vines Antonio had tended to over the years. By 1972, they produced their first wine under the Menegotti brand and legacy, launching a DOC Custoza, Bardolino, and Chiaretto di Bardolino. Over the next twenty years, the family expanded their wine portfolio. By the 1990s,  third - generation Antonio (named after Nonno) and Andrea took over the reins. The Menegotti’s objective is to create wines that express the terroir and are loyal to tradition, while being open to innovation and what that can bring. They are seeking elegance - a balance between all elements to create delicious and harmonious wines - semplicemente delizioso!

The Vineyards

vineyards

Located in the morainic hills southeast of Lake Garda, just a few kilometres from Verona, 30 hectares of vines are planted in 'rich texture' soils - a mix of sand and calcareous clays that impart weight, texture, and subtle minerality to its wines.
The vineyards are protected by the Alps in the north, which, coupled with Lake Garda's mild waters to create an ideal microclimate for optimal grape ripeness.

The climate is moderate, with mild, fresh summers and cold winters.
The vines are growing using guyot system with spurred cordons at density of 5,000 - 6,500 vines per hectare.
