A nearly-Gevrey-Chambertin: this 1.5ha parcel was within the appellation boundary until 1964. It lies across the Route Nationale from Clos Prieur-Bas. The oldest vines here date from 1925, with the youngest having been planted in 2012. Darker and sweeter on the nose — richer and more ‘Gevrey’. The palate is inky dark and impressively intense, with real tannic presence and a nice serenity to the dark berry fruit.
