Cuvée Sir Andrew Davis 2016 is one of the latest releases from legendary English sparkling wine estate Breaky Bottom. The blend comprises all three champagne varieties Chardonnay, as always dominant in the blend (70%), Pinot Noir (15%) and Pinot Meunier (15%). This wine honours the late Sir Andrew Davis, a renowned conductor, who owned a neighbouring property and would regularly appear at Glyndebourne.
"A classic Breaky Bottom, with its silver-gold cool-warm expression. Fine-textured, linear and pure, it has the incisive chalky acids of the Côte des Blancs and a style all its own, with notes of white flowers, orchard fruit, brioche and almond. "

Breaky Bottom Cuvee Cornelis Hendriksen Brut Traditional Method 2013
It is thought that the Romans first introduced vines to England, however due to a combination of poor climate and the strong trading links with France and Italy (leading to a ready supply of wine), wine-making never really took off. Fast forward a few centuries and wine making is now a burgeoning industry because of improved wine making techniques and climate change.
