Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux takes its name from the proprietor, Mr Dutruch, who established the vineyard on the Poujeaux plateau in approximately 1850. It was sold to François Cordonnier in 1967 and has remained in the Cordonnier family ever since. When François purchased Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux, it was only 11 hectares. Over time, he expanded this to 28 hectares. In 1993, François’ nephew, Jean-Baptiste Cordonnier, took over the running of the estate and completed his first harvest the following year. During his time, Jean-Baptiste implemented a series of innovations to improve the quality and finesse of the wine, including the construction of a new winery in 1999. In 2016, Jean-Baptiste sold the estate to his brother, another François Cordonnier, who appointed young winemaker Sébastien Olivar to run the estate.
