Gattinara, in the north west of Piedmont, in the shadow of the Alps. was once more recognised that its now much lauded neighbours Barolo and Barbaresco. Roberto Conterno bought the property in spring 2018. The vineyards cover around 28 ha of slopes and valleys with numerous exposures and the wines are magnificent ambassadors for this once more lauded arena
"Cherry fruit here, a really alluring nose. This manages to be both “proper” and yet lush
and overtly appealing at the same time. Good tannins frame the wine but do not dominate – this is sensitively done. The finish, fruited again but ultimatley savoury, is very special, particulary suited to large formats"
